Maps and Directions

The University Centre is in the south-west of Cambridge City Centre, opposite the point for hiring punts to Grantchester. Links to printable location information in PDF format are provided below.

Cycle Parking

There are cycle racks outside Reception, with many more available along Granta Place.

Car Parking

If you have the choice, please cycle to The University Centre as it helps ease traffic congestion, is good for the environment and keeps you fit!

The University Centre receives over 1,000 visitors a day and has only 12 car parking spaces. However spaces may be reserved, subject to availability, by the following members:

  • Registered disabled drivers, displaying an official disabled badge
  • Conference organisers
  • Riverside Restaurant customers

To reserve a space, call Reception on +44 (0) 1223 337766.

Members may use the car park in front of The University Centre – at their own risk – only whilst using The University Centre. You must sign in at Reception, and may be required to leave your car keys.

Parking after midnight or before 8.00 am is not permitted, and wheel-clamps are in operation, with a release fee of £50.

The area adjacent to the north and east sides of the building is reserved for staff use and for the delivery of goods.

Further parking is available within a five minute walk of the University Centre.

  • Double Tree by Hilton Hotel car park, opposite the Centre
  • Lion Yard Car Park, on Corn Exchange Street off Pembroke Street Silver Street
  • Outside Darwin and Queens Colleges (motorcycles only)
  • Along the Backs

Please note that parking facilities at the locations listed above are not managed by The University Centre and may be subject to a fee.

If the car park is full, disabled badge holders may be asked to park their car opposite The University Centre, alongside the Peterhouse Theatre, on the double yellow lines.

Accessibility

We do everything we can to provide easy access for our visitors with limited mobility.

Access to The University Centre is through wide, double doors at street level.

Accessible toilets can be found on the ground floor, opposite the Granta Lounge, and on the first floor, opposite the Riverside Restaurant.  A lift grants easy access to all floors.

The main conference room, the Hicks Room, is fitted with an induction loop.
