Nourishing sustainable food is the order of the day at The Cancer Research UK Cafe, based in Robinson Way.
On offer are an all day coffee bar (discounted if you bring your own mug/flask), panini's and salads, and hot and cold main courses from 12pm-4pm. Freshly baked brownies, soup bread, flapjacks and delicious sausage rolls are all made in-house. Gluten-free and vegan options are offered, including plant-based milk.
The Cafe has a strong focus on sustainability, with Rainforest-approved coffee, compostable packaging, locally-sourced bread and cheese, and a policy to reduce red meat offerings. All eggs are free range, while daily menus are printed on coconut paper. Other sustainability initiatives include 'Meet-Free Mondays', 'Future 50 Foods' (using pulses instead of rice), and 'Go Less on Waste' (with food waste strictly monitored).
The Cafe is open from 12pm-4pm Monday to Friday.
