Summer berry pavlova

Hello everyone,

We thought it’s been a while since our last blog post and since seeing our customers, so we wanted to catch you up on what’s been going on.

As you may have seen on our social media accounts, UCS staff have been busy in the kitchen throughout lockdown, making some amazing creations! Dishes ranged from summer fruit loafs and rhubarb crumble to pavlovas (pictured) and brownies. What have been your favourites to make throughout lockdown? Unfortunately, UCS cafes are not opening on 4th July, which is when the government has allowed cafes, bars and restaurants to reopen. We will keep you updated on our activity, and when we will be opening, once we know more. However, we are planning a safe return for both our staff and customers with screens, social distancing guidance and limiting number of customers in cafes at once. We understand this will be a big change to what you’re used to, so we will provide as much guidance as we can to ensure everyone’s safety.  

We have also been using this time to consider sustainability in our cafes. We are so proud of how far we have come, but we know that there is more we can be doing, so we are implementing sustainability in all of our developments and looking forward to see what you all think of it.

Menu development is also in action- what are some of your favourite dishes and what new dishes or sandwich ideas would you like to see on the menu in our cafes?
